How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Nottingham artist, HomeGrown ASBO, has been perfecting the art of rapping since age 11, scribbling down ideas on old receipts and his mum’s notebooks. Deeply inspired by American Hip-Hop with the likes of Eminem, Jay Z and Tupac, and UK Rap with Kano and Ghetts, HomeGrown stumbled across the Grime scene about a year and a half ago, and decided to jump whole-heartedly into the underground scene.
His successes have stretched far and wide, with the rising star amassing over 86m streams in a year, being featured on BBC Introducing Radio, and still having the time to release 2 albums and 3 EP’s in 2020 alone. Even with all of this keeping Homegrown ASBO busy, he still found the time and space to release 15 more singles on top of everything else, and he doesn’t plan to stop there with the New Year in full swing.
I am from. Nottingham in the UK and the scene is filled with incredible Grime artists and UK Hip Hop.
Living by his saying “I’ll either be dead at 21 or rich by 25”, the young entrepreneur battled through his rough beginnings and is now posted in studio every day, working on his supportive brand and striving to be heard world-wide.
